Age Cut-off Date: Age calculated strictly on 1 January 2027.

The examination consists of Stage-I (Preliminary - Objective Type) and Stage-II (Main - Descriptive Type), followed by a Personality Test/Interview. Stage-I includes General Studies and stream-specific papers in Geology/Hydrogeology, Geophysics, or Chemistry. Stage-II consists of three conventional papers in chosen streams (Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry, or Hydrogeology). Detailed syllabi for all papers are provided in the notification.

What is the application fee for the examination?
The application fee is ā¹200 for General and OBC male candidates. Female candidates and those belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories are exempted from paying any fee.
Are candidates from outside the state of the examination eligible to apply?
Yes, this is a Central government recruitment. Candidates who are citizens of India, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from certain countries are eligible to apply.
Is there any negative marking in the objective type papers?
Yes, there will be a penalty of one-third (1/3rd) of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer in the Objective Type Question Papers.
