Preliminary Stage-I consists of two objective papers: Paper-I (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude - 200 marks) and Paper-II (Discipline Specific - 300 marks). Main Stage-II consists of two conventional papers in the respective engineering discipline (300 marks each).

1. Visit the registration portal https://upsconline.nic.in

2. Complete the Creation of Account to generate a Universal Registration Number (URN).

3. Fill up the Common Application Form (CAF).

4. Fill up the Examination Specific Form containing four stages (Part-I to Part-IV).

5. Pay the fee of ā¹200 (if not exempted) via net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.

6. Upload a scanned photograph and signature (20-300 KB each in .jpg format).

7. Submit the application and retain the Application Number for future reference.

Does the exam have negative marking?
Yes, for objective type papers (Preliminary), there is a penalty for wrong answers where one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question are deducted for every incorrect response.
